In the same menu, you can rename your pet and adjust their characteristics, including their offensive and defensive capabilities and their inclination to engage enemies. For instance, you can train them to pick up items while mining or even serve as a faster travel option. This flexibility distinguishes it from traditional mounts like horses, which lack these customizable traits.
The mod introduces treat crafting, allowing you to heal and upgrade your wolves. Treats have upgradable tiers, crafted from lower-tier treats in stacks of five.
Furthermore, this mod provides additional items such as beds, food bowls, and collars, allowing further customization and interaction with your pet. You can craft beds with various colors for the frame and pillow. Collars come in multiple colors and can be equipped with a tracking radio, ensuring you can locate your pets easily. Food bowls allow you to provide food for your pets even when you're not present.
For entertainment, you can craft a throwing bone to play fetch with your pets. Crafting it from bones and a slime ball creates a toy that, when thrown, prompts your pet to fetch and return it to you. Additionally, the mod includes a dog whistle to adjust your dogs' behavior or issue commands when they're not following you closely.
